Hi all, I have an Audi s3 8y just recently purchased. Not sure if this is the right area to post this so sorry in advance. Just wondering if it is normal for the car to idle higher when running warm. I noticed it happening when I was using my MMI system. Any help would be much appreciated. 👍🏽

Did you get to the bottom of this issue? Mines been sitting at 1200 Rpm regardless of mode and once warm on and off for the last 6 months it’s been in 3 times can’t find the fault. It’s been doing it constantly for the last 2 days and now this evening has gone back to normal again?

too little info to help.

first you need to scan the ecu to see if there are any issues.
second. any aftermarket parts put on. any work done on the car.
third, how is the temp at your location?

I’m having this same issue thought it was the rad coolant temp sensor reading -50 but the actual value was good the specified value is the bad one reading -50, could this be an ecu issue or is it unrelated to my idle problem?

again you need to scan first with vcds. its the better of the tools for audi out there that consumers can buy.

Most probably. If the ECU read that the motor (coolant) temperature is low then it will raise the idle rpm.

Ah

I see you know nothing, thanks.
the point is to see if there are any codes the ecu may have stored before doing the next step.

as for not knowing anything (about your car since your just describing things you see on the surface), I can say we all don't know your car as its not in front of us to properly test it. but since your all knowing you should be teaching us on how to fix your car.

to all others, all shops would still scan the car as its the first thing to do.
well good luck with your fix. not sure how many more will be helping you out with your attitude.
