So i just picked up my 2016 S3 last week with 70k miles, i was told by previous owner that it needed a fuel filter. So far, i have had 3 misfires when starting the car. One was a cold start, the others were after i had been driving and started the car again after a couple minutes. Anyone had this issue? I'm not sure if i need spark plugs or have carbon buildup or if it actually needs a fuel filter. After the misfires when the car eventually starts, it runs fine and idles fine.

Regarding a similar problem I just posted this a moment ago in another thread:
Having my local dealer do this procedure (carbon cleaning) along with new coil packs and spark plugs after 45K miles due to a check engine light that's throwing misfire codes. Cost will be around +/- $2.5K.

Replace the fuel filter first of all. Not a huge cost. I'm even surprised you didn't do it already.

Spark plugs change every 40k but depends on what heat rating was used as to how long they last (vs remaps for example). Coilpacks are known to fail, need to change all at once (Audi ones are good and better than some after market ones). Check and change the air filter, dirt can get in and restrict air flow which feels like a miss fire. Basically a major service. I would also check and make sure the gearbox oil change was done in time as this will be due soon and haldex should be checked.
