Should I be concerned?

I have a strange issue with my 2017 S3 but I’m not sure if it is a problem or not.....

When I turn the key to position 1, the rev counter and speedo dials flick round and back again before I start the engine (as if the car is initialising or something) which is pretty cool, but it doesn’t do it every time. Often the dials don’t move and it appears to be random (ie sometimes it will do it for 5 or 6 times in a row and then it won’t do it for 5 or 6 times in a row). It doesn’t seem to affect the driving or anything, but it feels like it should be consistent.

Does anyone else have the same thing and should I be concerned?

Appreciate any advice.

Cheers!

Definitely make an appointment to have it checked out, shouldn't be flickering.

It’s not flickering. The needles on the Rev counter and Speedo flick right round when you turn the key. But not every time for some reason. I was just wondering why this was....

Oh you mean the needle sweep? On mine it's intermittent as well.

Yeah -it’s odd! I guess nothing to worry about then if yours does it too...
Thanks!

I think it does it whenever it needs to re-calibrate, nothing to worry about
